Katerina Pek obtained her medical degree from Charles University in Prague and specialized in internal medicine. After coming to Canada, Katerina chose to focus her work entirely on rehabilitation. In 1989 Katerina obtained licence as a Registered Massage Therapist and as a Natural Health Counsellor and has worked in private practice since, specializing in the treatment of orthopaedic and neurological disorders.
Katerina understands the need to treat not just the obvious symptoms but also the underlying problems associated with all conditions. That has led her to extensive education and finding of most current and effective European and North American manual therapy approaches to treat pain. She has been privileged to study with some of the brightest minds in the field. Combination of structural alignment by Myofascial Relase (specific ways of loosening the tensions within fascia) and Matrix Repatterning (a breakthrough method of treating injuries by finding restrictions in the tissue and treating them by gentle yet very precise manual pressure), together with Dynamic Posture (movement re-education by improved stabilization of the body) allow pain free movement, sustained long after therapy.
Katerina loves life! She enjoys all kinds of outdoors activities, traveling, music, theatre, and the arts.
