Physiotherapist (licensed or awaiting licensing exam)
Job Description
The physiotherapist will contribute to The Seekers Method mission by delivering our novel therapy system of finding and releasing blockages in fascia while teaching and empowering patients to practice it daily, as they learn to find and release the restrictions in fascia that are unique to their bodies.
The successful candidate will perform virtual and in-person sessions with scheduled clients/patients on a daily basis. The required knowledge and skill will be provided in a structured internship during which they will function as a therapy assistant. This will include personal instruction from the MD who created The Seekers Method and other clinic staff who are proficient in the system.
**Internships (with salary) are available to recent graduates who are awaiting examination and licensure**
Responsibilities
The Physiotherapist has the following responsibilities and duties:
- Clearly communicate and use of proper language with clients/patients while delivering the method
- Ensure each client/patient completes all prerequisites before his/her first session
- Work with clients/patients in an one-on-one or group-based setting
- Maintain a professional relationship with each client/patient
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals as needed
- Compliance with the government physiotherapy regulations
- Use of proper hands-on techniques and perform safe manual therapy at all times
- Teach the method to each client/patient with guided learning and step-by-step demonstrations
- Record, track and analyze data from each session using the BEAM app
- Attend meetings with other employees and company stakeholders
- Keep an organized, clean and safe therapy zone at all times
- To be able to select appropriate exercises for each client/patient
- Deliver effective therapy during each session
- Follow The Seekers Method guidelines for delivering our novel therapy system to target blockages in fascia
Requirements
The Physiotherapist should have the following skills, education and experience:
- Registered to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (**recent graduates may complete an internship while waiting for examination and licensure**)
- Has an interest in fascia, human movement, performance, active therapy and manual therapy
- Demonstrates quality interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team
- Some experience is preferred, but not required as there will be internal training provided
- Outstanding written and verbal skills
- Experience with exercises and safe operation of exercise equipment
- Strong observational and analytical skills to correctly assess, develop and evaluate client/patient therapy and movement
